This Privacy Policy explains what information Noor ("the App," "we," "us") collects when you use it, and how that information is handled. Noor is a static web application for reading Quran surahs, hadith, sunnah content, and daily prayer times.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Location (for prayer times). To calculate accurate Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, and Isha times, the App needs an approximate location. This happens one of two ways:

• Precise location, only if you grant permission through your browser's location prompt (GPS/Wi-Fi based).
• Approximate location, estimated automatically from your device's IP address if precise location is unavailable, denied, or times out.

We do not store your location. It is used only in your browser, in that moment, to fetch prayer times, and is not saved to any server or database — Noor has no backend server or database at all.

No accounts, no cookies, no tracking. Noor does not require an account, does not use tracking cookies, and does not use analytics or advertising trackers.

Notifications. If you enable prayer-time notifications, that permission and scheduling happen entirely within your own browser/device. We do not receive or store any record of your notification activity.

3. Third-party services we rely on

Because Noor has no backend of its own, it fetches content directly from your browser to the following third-party services. Each request may expose your IP address to that service, subject to their own privacy practices:

• Al Quran Cloud and quranapi.pages.dev — Quran text, transliteration, translations, and recitation audio.
• Aladhan API — calculates daily prayer times based on the location provided.
• ipapi.co — provides an approximate location based on IP address, used only as a fallback.
• cdn.islamic.network — hosts recitation audio files.

We do not control these services and are not responsible for their data practices. We recommend reviewing their respective privacy policies if you have concerns about IP-address-level data handling.

4. Data security

Since Noor does not operate a server or database, there is no central store of user data that could be breached on our end. Your interactions happen directly between your browser and the third-party services listed above.

5. Children's privacy

Noor is designed to be family-friendly and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no accounts or personal data collection exist, no age-gating is currently required, but this may be revisited if account features are introduced in the future.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
